Ethics & Governance

Credibility is the product.

A research practice is only as good as the rules it refuses to break. This page sets out the governance framework that binds every Gurjas engagement.

Research ethics statement

Gurjas conducts and supports research in line with internationally recognised standards of research integrity, including honesty in reporting, respect for participants and data subjects, and accountability for methods. Where engagements involve human-subjects data, we require that appropriate institutional ethics approvals and informed-consent procedures are in place before analysis begins. We present findings transparently, with limitations, assumptions and methodological decisions made clear — including results that are inconvenient for the client or for us.

No ghostwriting

We do not provide thesis ghostwriting or paper-mill services, and we do not produce academic work for others to submit as their own. Our role in doctoral and publication support is methodological, analytical, advisory and pedagogical: we teach, review, critique and strengthen. Authorship on any output follows standard academic criteria of substantial intellectual contribution.

No false guarantees

We do not promise guaranteed publication, guaranteed degree outcomes, guaranteed NAAC grades or institutional approvals. Any provider making such promises is describing something other than research.

Conflict of interest policy

Team members and advisors disclose financial, institutional or personal interests that could reasonably be seen to influence an engagement. Where a material conflict exists, we decline the engagement, recuse the affected individual, or disclose the conflict to the client in writing before proceeding. Advisory board members are screened on appointment and affiliations are stated for identification only.

AI usage & transparency statement

Gurjas uses artificial-intelligence tools the way it uses statistical software: as instruments under expert human control. AI may assist with literature scanning, code drafting, editing and formatting. It is never used to fabricate data, invent citations, generate analysis presented as original findings without verification, or produce academic text for clients to submit as their own. All substantive analytical and interpretive work is performed and verified by the team, and clients may request a description of any AI assistance used in their deliverables.

Open science statement

We support open research infrastructure: ORCID identifiers, DOI-registered outputs, preprints and working papers on SSRN, and open data and replication materials through repositories such as Zenodo, wherever publisher policies and data-sharing agreements permit. Client confidentiality always takes precedence for commissioned work.

Data protection statement

Client datasets, documents and institutional materials are treated as confidential, used only for the agreed scope of work, stored with access limited to those working on the engagement, and deleted or returned on request at the close of an engagement. We handle personal data in the spirit of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and comparable international norms. Our website practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

Raising a concern
